I bought this Kindle for my wife for Christmas after doing a lot of eBook reader research. I settled on the Kindle based on what I found (and because the Nook was not available until after Christmas). I’ve been reading a book on it, and had a few PDF docs converted and overall I like the device very much. My main criticism is the lack of epub support. My library has free downloadable eBooks and audio-books. I take the audio-books with me on my iPod, but can not take advantage of the epub format.
There are lots of new ebook readers coming out soon, I may consider one of those for myself unless we see an upgrade to the Kindle and perhaps a price drop.
-add epub support and get a fourth star
-drop the price a bit and get a fifth star (and more of my business)

Reading Twilight is a little bit like drinking a big pitcher of watered-down Kool-Aid: after you drink it you realize it would’ve been much more satisfying to stick with a smaller quantity of higher quality.
Going into the story, it’s expected that the book is going to be a sweet young adult novel, nothing too unexpected. But then when you sit down and read it you get the feeling someone’s playing a joke on you… such great reviews for such a weak drawn-out story?
The first three-quarters of the book are for the most the protagonist lamenting about how she’s clumsy, doesn’t like Forks, that the Cullens (especially Edward) are beautiful, and that she herself is nothing special. Personally, I would have enjoyed Twilight Condensed much more…it’s an interesting enough premise, the execution was just disappointing.

I bought the `iRiver Story’ after a lot of deliberation. I liked the fact that it would display Microsoft documents. I dismissed the `Kindle 2′ because I wrongly thought that as a UK user I would be charged to put free content on the device. I also considered the BeBook Mini before settling on the `Story’. So, with the `Story’ I thought I’d bought the `Kindle Killer’. I was bitterly disappointed. The device crashed on me eight times in the first 24 hours of use. I sent it back to WH Smiths and received a refund. This was a fast, free and painless operation for which Smiths should be commended. I then re-read details on the `Kindle 2′ and decided to go for it. The hype is justified, the `Story’ even if it did work does not compare with the `Kindle 2′, `Kindle Killer’ it most definitely is not. I have joined the growing community of `Kindlites’. It isn’t perfect, but pretty close. I am itching to be able to get daily newspapers with images in it. And what’s the deal that our cousins from across the pond being able to get the `Times’ before us Brits can – with pictures!? I am also keen to use the web browser but `local restrictions’ won’t let me. Are there any local mobile phone networks that have bought into the idea yet? How come a country as large as the US can offer free connection but `rip off’ Britain cannot? I would love some answers. It would be helpful if Amazon could distribute the `Kindle 2′ in the UK through Amazon.co.uk, especially since the initial price of ~£175 was the same as the `Story’ but with delivery and import tax it came to £225. The adjusted price gave me pause for thought. It would also be nice if us Brits had the option of the Oxford English Dictionary built in rather than the Oxford American English version, it can be changed (at a cost) but it might help sway people to be early up-takers of the device. I have had it now just over a week and already satiated my obsession with Shakespeare allowing me to put the complete works onto it (free)

I’m not a gamer, and I didn’t play a long time ago!
Wii is different and I think if you are not a really addict to play you will love it!
Slumber Pet Water Resistant
I bought it because of the good reviews; my first cable had an issue but the seller contacted me quickly and replaced the cable without any work on my end.
Sigma 55 200mm f
What can I say? Great price, fast shipping, and replaced 5 lbs of random cables behind by AV receiver! If you have an assortment of methods of connecting your equipment just buy a handful of these cables and the entire area cleans up instantly. Plus, I could not believe the picture quality improvement!
It’s a no-brainer; just buy a bunch of these cables and make your life simple.

Book: Artemis Fowl #1
Author: Eoin Colfer
By Alexander Hall
12-year-old Artemis Fowl is a criminal mastermind. It is his job to get his family fortune back. It all started when Russians sank his dad’s ship. Artemis Fowl Sr. had bought a cargo ship with 250 thousand cans of Coca Cola on it. He was going to sell it for money for years. Russians didn’t like the idea of an Irish tycoon selling all of it in their market. They sank his ship. No one has seen him since, so they all think he’s dead. Artemis Fowl Jr. has an idea. If he gets money from fairies, he can sell it and make millions. All he has to do is get an ancient rulebook for fairies, translate it, and capture a fairy. This would be easy for Artemis, considering that he is a kid prodigy. But this small kidnap will turn into a war.
This funny book for all ages will get you thinking. You will not know whose side to take because Eoin makes you feel like one of the fairy officers or one of Artemis’ butlers in every chapter. Will Artemis win? Or will the fairies wipe them out of existence?
Gold Stars Confetti
This is the by far the best money spent to date on running gear. It makes me want to get out there to log another run just so I can upload the data to my PC. I click the watch onto the base attaced to my PC with a USB cable. It automatically grabs all the new data then displays it by mile and by total. some data columns include: max heart rate, ave heart rate, distance, time, pace, elevation change, calories etc. You can also graph up to 4 of these to compare against each other for your run. The map included in the software is very basic, but with the click of the mouse it will transfer data points to google earth where you can see your route over aerial maps. excellent purchase. Have already convinced 4 people to buy one.
Blinding Light Show Moonchild
I had heard many good things about this novel with many recommendations that, as a Harry Potter fan, I would enjoy it. I’m happy to say that it lived up to all of the hype. This is yet another example of a fine writer producing children’s literature that’s not all that childish. Like a really well-done cartoon, there’s plenty in its pages to entertain and amuse children and many references that will go straight over their heads but that adults will enjoy.
The language Colfer uses is really wonderful. He doesn’t try to dumb it down and the vocabulary is colorful and would be a nice challenge for younger children and yet it’s not so academic that it becomes daunting. Colfer uses colorful language and does an excellent job of setting the scene and creating believable and fun dialogue.
The best thing about this book, though, is Colfer’s prodigious imagination. Artemis is a very fun and unexpected character and the Butlers were also a lot of fun, particularly Julia with her penchant for wrestling. Colfer’s twists on traditional folklore and fairytale creatures is very innovative and his take on how the “Mud People” stereotype fairies, elves, and dwarves was a riot. Colfer is very adept at using such satire to great effect and while kids will find it funny, adults will appreciate how Colfer pokes fun at our own world.
Overall, this book is a great deal of fun and I look very forward to reading the next installment.
