Yep, for $75 it cleans my whole place and does a darn good job of it too. Hardwood floors and thick carpeting … no problem. Purchased based on other reviewers. Everybody else was absolutely right. This is one heck of a deal on a very good vacuum. I did have a bit of a hard time installing two of the screws (it comes partly disassembled and it will take 15 minutes or so to initially assemble), which appear to be mis-sized. I’m sure I’m just missing something and will take a closer look when I get a chance. For now it’s working great though.

I really enjoyed The Help. It was well written, and the characters were richly defined and interesting, as were the relationships between them. Excellent book, highly recommended.

When my brother bought the Kindle for me I was thrilled. I love my Kindle! It’s a great form of relaxation. I still love my Kindle. But lately I’m not happy with it. Why? There were books that were once available on Kindle edition. And now it’s not. It’s ridiculous esp. if I ordered it in Kindle edition then I get an e-mail it’s no longer available. I don’t care if we get charged a little more for the Kindle edition. For example, Dead in the Family. If this continues, I think I’m going to sell and get another brand. I don’t want to. I hope Amazon get there act together. I know it’s getting competitive esp. with all the other e-books on the market. If the Nook can get these books, I think Amazon can get these books. I still love my Kindle!

I am starting to notice some delay in processing pictures. Now I am not sure if it is this or the camera (Canon Rebel XS). But I will go get another memory card to test. The package is a nightmare to open. Capacity has not been an issue. Hope this helps.

Catcher in the Rye has many relevant meanings for the teenagers of today. Holden Caufield’s confusions and frustrations are those of most teenagers who want to connect with other people and belong to a certain social quota. J.D Salinger presents to us a novel full of symbolism, imagery, and adolescent complexity that fufills it’s overall goals of giving us a glimpse into the life and psyche of a troubled and disturbed teenager who tries making connections with people he doesn’t know ending up in, as mean as this may sound, humorous failed attempts. The overall theme in this novel doesn’t comply any moral as did Ovid’s fables back in ancient Greece. Catcher in the Rye tends to be more interpretive in that manner. Holden’s inability to truly connect with people is due to his inability to immature and let go of pain.
“People never notice anything” (Pg 9). It’s in this quote that we really see what type of person Holden really is. Nobody around Holden seems to understand him, seems to understand his angers and confusions. Everyone is just as about as “phony as he is”. It’s in these beginning chapters we notice that something is wrong with Holden. something that doesn’t quite match up. He’s a white male with well-off parents that can afford to send him off to boarding school and he purposefully flunks out by not even attempting to study. It’s not until later on in the novel that we learn of James Castle and his brother Allie that there is a reason for this rebellion and personal wall that he has erected for himself. It’s how Holden breaks this wall that makes this book powerful and a very compelling and humorous read.

This is an amazing product. It was recommended to me by a friend and I was skeptical at first but it is amazingly tough. At high speeds on the highway, or even with quick car jerks, it remains nonskid. I have actually bought two.

Most people research purchases like these quite a bit so they’re probably familiar with the Blue product line. Blue gives their mics a nostalgic look. The result is the Yeti look like one of those old classic radio mics of yesteryear. It also means the mic is absolutely as huge as it is nice looking.
The mic also is solidly built and heavy except for the knobs which are a little loose and plastic. Though I don’t find the knobs as cheap and objectionable as other reviews I’ve read. I have modest needs and have no interest in mounting the mike with anything but the supplied mount. However, the nostalgic look means the provided base is screwed in on the sides. The mount is on the bottom so using this option will leave 2 unattractive holes showing.
I paid a premium for this mic mainly for the gain and selectable modes (e.g., stereo, directional, etc.) because of an experience I had with a cheap mic this replaces that was too soft. However, I don’t see the gain as being all that important though I’ve found the volume of the mic to be fine.
I don’t have a lot of experience with mics in this price range so I can’t say if the Yeti sounds significantly better or worse. I can say the Yeti sounds better than a cheap Logitech mic it replaces. Gone is a minor background hum and soft volume. Still, it surprised me that the Yeti – about 4 times the cost – doesn’t blow my socks off in comparison taking tonal differences into effect. That’s not me saying the Yeti doesn’t sound fine. I’m just wondering if I could have bought a quality mic in the $90-100 range versus the roughly $120 I paid for the Yeti.
I’d like to add I bought this mic through Streamline Audio Video. They listed the mic as in stock but after placing the order the estimated ship date was like a week off. After 2 complaints to Amazon it shipped.
