It took me a while to warm up to reading this book. I didn’t have high expectations, but decided to given in to the hype hoping I would be mildly entertained, it’s a teenage book how bad can it be? WOW! I am concerned for my teenage nieces now. There are so many bad messages being sent to teenager in this novel, I really think the writter should have taken her time to consider her target. First, Edward is NOT a teen, he may look like one, but he is over 100 years old!!! and should not be anywhere near teenage girls!!! That is NOT LOVE! and I don’t want teenage girls to think it’s acceptable in any form. Second, Bella- don’t know where to begin with this girl, the other reviews said it best, whinning, martyr, hormonal, irrational, etc. NO girl should have such an unhealthy fixation on a man, she is very selfish, she wants everything her way or she will do anything to get it regardless of what pain it may cause her family, Edward, Jacob whom she claims to love so much. I don’t think she is as much a doormat to Edward as Edward is to her. He gives in to her demands like the parent of a spoil brat. The writer’s attempt to give her enough guilt, concern for her parents and friends are so weak, just made her more annoying. Jacob, could have been a very good character, I could have rooted for him, but again, the writter made him into another selfish, manipulative bully. Jacob wants to force his kind of love on Bella, she loves him as a friend, but he is determined to have more, no matter how many times she tells him “no” to the point of kissing her against her will, forcefully, she hurt her hand trying to stop him (this part is really disturbing to me, it’s a symptom of a larger problem in real life)and her father’s reaction to it is very “boys locker room”. Jacob again gets to kiss her by emotionally black mailing her with the old “if you won’t be with me, I will let myself be killed”. I had “Jacob” type of friends in my life and is not romantic at all. I’m unhappy with it. People can not open my attachments unless they have a reader and no one has a reader. Also I lost my spell check with Outlook Express since Office Home and Student 2007 is not compatible with OE. It’s all been very frustrating. 2003 works much better at this point and I no longer have it.

when i borrowed the friend’s garmin that caused me to buy one of my own, they gave me this same clover-shaped friction mount to use with it. likewise, because it was so easy to set up & use, i got one to match, too. this thing works great, and doesn’t leave scuffs/residue/etc on the dash of the car. i really don’t want to leave suction cup marks all over the glass or obstruct any direct viewing real estate out the window, and those air-vent clip mounts look really flimsy, so a dash mount was the way to go. it’s decently grippy: for the most part, even with sharp corners & quick turns, this unit won’t slide off the dash. hit a pothole or an unexpected bump in the road at any speed, though, and the unit will jitter over a bit (so far, not enough to slide out of reach or fall on the floor, but still). it’s a bit too bulky to easily hide in the glove compartment or console, so i’ve just been tossing it up under the passenger side dash or in the backseat floorboards. it’s not perfect, but it’s so much easier than most any other option.

I like this so much that I’m really enjoying cleaning again. This really does the job, got turned on to this from a column by Mary Hart, something to the effect of “best purchases I made”. I find this simple to use, instructions were easy to follow and the suction makes for quick drying. I’ve cleaned carpets and upholstery and am happy with both especially because I have a dog, which I love to hate, that has a poor track record. And, the price for what I got, it’s a bargain! The last time I had carpets cleaned I paid around 500.00 and prior to that I’d been renting machines. This will pay for itself in the first year. Take care to follow instructions and clean up the machine afterwards. (Sounds like advice that Mom would’ve given!)

Catcher in the Rye has many relevant meanings for the teenagers of today. Holden Caufield’s confusions and frustrations are those of most teenagers who want to connect with other people and belong to a certain social quota. J.D Salinger presents to us a novel full of symbolism, imagery, and adolescent complexity that fufills it’s overall goals of giving us a glimpse into the life and psyche of a troubled and disturbed teenager who tries making connections with people he doesn’t know ending up in, as mean as this may sound, humorous failed attempts. The overall theme in this novel doesn’t comply any moral as did Ovid’s fables back in ancient Greece. Catcher in the Rye tends to be more interpretive in that manner. Holden’s inability to truly connect with people is due to his inability to immature and let go of pain.
“People never notice anything” (Pg 9). It’s in this quote that we really see what type of person Holden really is. Nobody around Holden seems to understand him, seems to understand his angers and confusions. Everyone is just as about as “phony as he is”. It’s in these beginning chapters we notice that something is wrong with Holden. something that doesn’t quite match up. He’s a white male with well-off parents that can afford to send him off to boarding school and he purposefully flunks out by not even attempting to study. It’s not until later on in the novel that we learn of James Castle and his brother Allie that there is a reason for this rebellion and personal wall that he has erected for himself. It’s how Holden breaks this wall that makes this book powerful and a very compelling and humorous read.

This book should be titled “Conversations with Satan”, because that is who this sadly misguided author was listening to. If you really want to know about God read HIS book, it’s called the “Holy Bible” and not a book from someone who is just out to make a quick buck off of people desperate to hear the truth as long as it fits into what they want to believe. People don’t want to be held accountable, they want to believe that everything is all right and it’s someone else’s fault. This is not what God teaches. I challenge you to get into His word if you want the honest truth.

really good product raises humidity fast & effectively though i recommend using Zoomed’s HYGROTHERM with it unless you want to be constantly turning the machine off to LOWER the humidity as even on its lowest level i saw my humidity going to 90%+ which meant i had to shut it off constantly. definately watch the drip i have it pointing down into the enclosure and it still drips and yes use distilled water but overall a good product ive had it for about a week so we’ll see how long it lasts.
