If you’re looking for a fantastic bike for under 400.00, this is the one for you. Its rock solid. mine performed perfectly out of the box with no adjustments except for the seat and brake levers. Great buy, best bang for the buck!
Mongoose Tyax Comp Men
I love the Omron pedometer. It has been used daily since I got it. Easy to set up, easy to read, and easy to work toward my 10,000 steps per day! I am more motivated to walk daily, trying to beat yesterday’s numbers. Buy it, try it, you’ll love it.
Mongoose Raid Freestyle Bike
Nice Style for a Child; Manual Stinks!. My son (11 years old) LOVES this bike. I like the style but the manual sucks! It is not written in a manner that makes Mongoose Gavel Boys Freestyle Bike clear which model it is referring to when detailing the various setups. I had a hard time figuring out the correct configuration for increasing the tension for the rear brakes….. my son eventually wrapped the line and used one of my hair bands to hold it to the handlebars to decrease the slack allowing enough tension for the rear brake to pull! I refuse to take this bike to the shop to pay upward of $100 for a $120 bike!
damaged during shipping- poor replacement options. Bike arrived in a busted up box, missing pieces and damaged. Amazon offered several less than ideal replacement options.
Who knows if the bike is any good. But I have noticed several other customers mentioning that the bikes arrived broken or bent, I just wanted to let you know that trying to get a replacement isnt easy and from the looks of things its going to takes us weeks to get a new bike. Hope its not snowin’.
Terrible Bike!!!. I purchased this bike for my wife from fogdog through amazon. I must say the service was excellent.
I did have to return the bike because Mongoose Montana Womens Mountain Bike is very poorly designed. The bike’s frame was so short that the pedals would hit the front tire and you could get hurt riding it. In addition to the terrible design, it took me an entire day to get the brakes and wheels adjusted properly. The wheels were way out of true and the brakes would not align properly at all. I finally got it to an acceptable point with the wheels and brakes when we realized the pedals hit the tire.
The bike seems to have the mongoose name, while the manual said Pacific. That leads me to believe it’s not a true mongoose. The mongoose name and the other review led me to believe it was ok to purchase.
In closing, service was great and the bike was horrible.
