The suction power is very strong and you can walk on your carpet within a short time after cleaning. I was able to clean some large heavy throw rugs that were too big for my washing machine it was great. With this machine you can clean your carpets much more often because it’s no big deal to use it. We bought it and not only does it work on non- carpeted floors it is great on them as well. Our expensive electrolux did not get all the dog hair but the Hoover was great!!!!!!!!!!
